Rutledge has Magi Gal appeal
Ashbourne woman Siobhan Rutledge continued to enhance her reputation with another winner to her tally at Dundalk this evening.
Rutledge was on board the John McConnell-trained Magi Gal which was winning for the second time at the Louth venue.
Rutledge had her first track win on Magi Gal in Navan just over 12 months ago when she pipped none other than Gavin Ryan on the line.
Tonight at Dundalk Rutledge had to make up ground with the slow-starting Magi Gall to win by a neck.
The talented apprentice achieved a first in her career last month at Gowran Park with her first winner for an outside stable on board the Dot Love-trained All The Mollies.
Tonight's win was the first leg of a double for trainer McConnell who was also on the mark with the Shane Foley-partnered Blackstone Cliff.
They were also denied by a neck when Happaugue finished second to Turf Range in an earlier contest
However, it was a good night for Meath-trained horses at Dundalk with Sheila Lavery and Eddie Lynam also on the mark.
The Lavery-trained Styledome opened her account by winning the mile nursery with Robbie Colgan in charge of the steering duties.
Dunshaughlin-based Eddie Lynam took the apprentice handicap when Shane Crosse got Punk Poet home comfortably.
