Meath and Dublin both odds-on to win on Sunday

Meath footballers hardly rate a quote in the betting from BoyleSports for the All-Ireland SFC with Dublin marginal favourites at 11/10 from Kerry at 9/4.

Meath's standing amongst the layers is reflected in odds at 100/1 for the Sam Maguire Cup, but they are raging hot favourites to beat Wicklow in Aughtim on Sunday at 1/10.

In the most recent promotional efforts from BoyleSports they are quoting recently-retired Diarmuid Connolly's view on Dublin's bid for six-in-a-row.

Diarmuid Connolly on Dublin: “Full-Back Line Will Determine Dublin’s Six-In-A-Row Bid”

Bugler and Small ‘Phenomenal Talents’ Says All-Ireland Winner

Dublin legend Diarmuid Connolly has earmarked Dessie Farrell’s full-back line as the area where his side will win or lose their bid for a sixth consecutive All-Ireland championship.

Speaking to BoyleSports’ Leon Blanche ahead of Dublin’s Leinster opener against Westmeath this weekend, Connolly said:

“My big question mark for Dublin this year will be in the full-back line. Are they going to have a consistent full-back line? Because usually when we do, we can shore up the back and the lads up front will always get the scores.

“Dublin have a few guys who can be a huge influence on the Championship and most of them are in the forward line. I think Cormac Costello will have a big influence and the competition for places is phenomenal at the minute in the forward line.

The six-time All-Ireland winner also backed breakout campaigns for some of the newer faces on the Dublin panel, adding:

“We saw the impact Sean Bugler had off the bench the last day and he’s a phenomenal talent. Paddy Small is exactly the same, he was one of the leaders actually the last day and he’s been immense throughout the Dublin Championship.

"He can draw two or three men to him and create space for other people. They may be a little bit of an unknown when it comes to the inter-county scene, but I’ve seen these guys for years and they are well able to mix it.”
