Family Cycle in Navan on Sunday for National Bike Week

Navan Cycling Initiative is a community-based group that aims to make cycling in Navan and surrounding areas safe, enjoyable and popular.

We are organising a Family Cycle as part of National Bike Week to allow people an opportunity to get out on their bikes and become part of the conversation about cycling in the town.

At the moment, cycling in Navan can be unsafe, unpleasant and downright nerve-wracking! We will have achieved our objectives when we see people cycling safely to school or work place, to shops or cafés, to leisure activities or to meet friends as part of normal, everyday life.

The event is a cycle around Navan, starting at 2:30pm on Sunday 27th September 2020 at the Fair Green car park

The cycle is open to everyone over six years of age with a bike! For the safety and health of everyone involved, we have some rules:

1. Our insurer requires that all cyclists wear a helmet.

2. Cyclists younger than six are very welcome to take part as passengers on an adult bike.

3. Please check that your bike is in good working order before the event (our marshals will have some tools in case anything goes wrong during the cycle).

4. Be able to cycle independently - no balance bikes, no stabilisers.
