Extension for Meath Hill School

St Brigid’s National School in Meath Hill has received funding for a new two classroom extension.

The school has received over €400,000 from the Department of Education under the Additional Accommodation Scheme 2020.

Deputy Niamh Smyth said, “I am delighted to confirm that over €400,0000 has been awarded to St. Brigid’s National School for this accommodation work. I understand this funding will go toward two new classrooms and a new bathroom.

“This additional accommodation is needed to meet the demands of the growing school population. The requirements for social distancing when schools return makes this project all the more urgent.

“I want to congratulate Principal Anita McCahey, her staff and the Board of Management at the School for their work in the successful application. This will come as welcome news to the pupils and their families who have contacted me in relation to this matter,” concluded Deputy Smyth.
