Three in 70 minutes for Cromwell

Trainer Gavin Cromwell had a St Patrick's Day to remember for all the right reasons with a behind-closed-doors treble today at Wexford and Down Royal.

Jockey Sarah Kavanagh rode her first winner on the Cromwell-trained 33/1 chance Demophon at Down Royal in the Adare Manor Opportunity Handicap Hurdle.

Prospectus was the second part of what was more than a 100/1 double at the Ulster track for Cromwell.

The seven-year-old was 9/4-favourite for a novice chase and Brien Kane did the steering and had 20 lengths to spare at the post.

"I wasn't sure about the ground today, on heavy ground he didn't jump that well, but he jumped well today," stated Cromwell.

"Brien gave him a smashing ride and kept him up to his game, he added.

Cromwell completed the treble with the aptly-named Ujumpthelastuwin in a Wexford maiden hurdle with Jonathan Moore on board.
