Extra caravan and camper van tickets available for Kaleidoscope
The lovely people of Ireland’s leading family-focused music and arts festival Kaleidoscope have announced that a limited number of additional camper van/caravan tickets, priced at €86.25, will go on sale on Friday 28th February for anyone hoping to snap up remaining tickets for what is shaping up to be the unmissable event of the summer.
There will be a limited number of tickets on sale and given the anticipated demand, they are expected to be snapped up immediately.
As a festival that truly values feedback, Kaleidoscope listened to the requests of last year’s attendees and the demand for more campervan spaces was top of the list.
Russborough House and Demesne stretches over 200 acres of fields, woodlands and lakes, meaning plenty of space to extend the Campervan site, whilst still ensuring its close proximity to the festival site – with organisers mindful that families with young children and buggies always need to be close by.
Taking place from 26th – 28th June in Russborough House, Co Wicklow - just as the final bell tolls in school to mark the start of the summer holidays - headliners The Divine Comedy and Basement Jaxx (DJ set) will have the entire family dancing the weekend away, while Kaleidoscope’s extensive sports and wellness programme will offer everything from laughter yoga to ziplining.
Elsewhere, the brand-new Carnivale area, which will be home to acrobats, dancers and strongmen over the weekend, will be inspired by the spectacle, grit and glamour of the 19th century travelling fairground and the surrounding artforms of circus and magic - a true journey back in time!
If something a little more luxurious than your standard tent is up your street, why not try the boutique camping experience with Pink Moon and Silk Road Tents?
With structures available that range from standard two-man tents right up to tipis and yurts, the Boutique Glamping team will welcome you to the site and check you into your accommodation – tent pitched, ready and waiting for you. And that’s not all – glampers can avail of exclusive showers and luxury toilets in this incredible setting and ease of access from the car park and the arena!
Meanwhile, there are a wide range of alternative camping options available to punters on the grounds of the majestic Palladian mansion in Blessington.
An bhfuil Gaeilge agat? Well, you’ll be delighted to hear that the Ghaeltacht campsite will be returning to Kaleidoscope this year. A place for the Irish language to be enjoyed, the site is for anyone who wants to make use of their cúpla focal and maybe even pick up a few more words from the other Gaelgeóirí camping nearby.
Of course, the traditional camping experience is still as popular as ever. General camping is included in a weekend camping ticket and attendees must bring and pitch their own tents.
Last year, the post-festival clean-up was a massive success and Kaleidoscope would like to thank all the families who left the site spotless, with every tent taken home and hopefully set to be re-used at this year’s festival.
If you would prefer a home from home rather than camping in a tent or campervan for three days, there are a number of hotels and hostels surrounding Russborough all within a short 5 minute drive, including Abhainn Rí Farmhouse, Abhainn Rí Cottages and Lakeview Lodge and the picturesque lakeside houses at The Avon. Hotels in the vicinity include The Osprey, Killashee House and Citywest Hotel.
As for cost, Kaleidoscope understands that there are bills to be paid and so have brought back their instalment payment plan to help make things that little bit easier.
The first half of the fee must be paid upfront and the second to be paid on 1st May. A family camping ticket costs €176 and tickets are available for purchase online via Ticketmaster.ie or here Weekend Camping & Weekend Non-Camping, there is also a charge of €20 for car parking over the weekend.
Festival goers are advised to pre-purchase their parking ticket to ensure the smoothest possible arrival at the festival. And remember, day tickets are also available for those who can’t make the whole weekend.
Kaleidoscope are also offering festival-goers who already have their tickets the chance to nab a free campervan pass to this weekend of music, movement and family moments with their ‘Pimp My Campervan’ competition.
Get the creative juices flowing and deck out your van in the wildest and wackiest of ways to be in with a chance of winning a campervan pass. Simply post your idea on Facebook or Instagram, the winning entry will be announced on Wednesday 4th March.
With many more musical acts and exciting family experiences yet to be announced, don’t miss out on what promises to be a magical weekend in Blessington, Co. Wicklow.
