Rogers continues to set records

Bohermeen man Gary Rogers celebrated another League of Ireland Premier title at Oriel Park last night when the trophy was presented folloiwng the 4-0 win against St Pat's in the last home game of the season in the League.

Rogers now tops the charts for cleansheets kept in the League for the third season in-a-row and eight in total going back to the First Division in 2001 / 2002.

Last night Dundalk manager Vinny Perth made five changes from the previoyus week's 0-1 defeat by Cork City.

Gary Rogers and Athboy man Jamie McGrath both returned to the starting 11 along with Brian Gartland, Daniel Cleary and John Mountney.

Rogers last week signed a new deal with the club that will take him into a 20th season in the League and it will also provide an opportunity 
to close in on 600 appearances in the League of Ireland.

The Meath man, who won the Meath Sportsperson of the Year award in 2015, has made over 200 appearances for the Louth club since he moved from Sligo Rovers at the end of the 2014 season.

Next up for Dundalk is Shamrock Rovers in what should be one of the most exciting FAI Cup finals in recent years, with kick-off at 3.40pm at the Aviva on Sunday 3rd November.

The Women’s FAI Cup Final will see Peamount Utd take on Wexford Youths, kick-off, 12.05pm.
