Drakensberg has Mulvany's Bar Syndicate cheering at Leopardstown

Trainer Tony Martin was the toast of Dunboyne last night when the Mulvany's Bar Syndicate-owned Drakensberg won at Leopardstown.

Members of the syndicate include Brendan Mulvany, Des McCaffrey, Anthony Lynch, Joe Reilly, Philip Reilly, Ray Mitchell, Tom Tone and Kit Toole.

Drakensberg won earlier this year at Dundalk in February and March and had previously won at Dresden in Germany in different ownership.

Drakensberg arrived at the Meath stable in summer 2017, but didn't show too much and finished last (20th of 20) on a first  outing at Leopardstown in October of that year with another Syndicate-owned horse Sil Ver Klass in 15th place although it since won a hurdle at Limerick last year.

Trainer Martin was denied a double when the Sheila Lavery-trained Galeola with Robbie Colgan on board won the concluding Manguard Plus Handicap at the Foxrock track.
