Meath hoping switch to Trim will revive their fortunes

Meath's NHL Div 2A encounter against Antrim, which was originally due to be played at Pairc Tailteann on Sunday, has been switched to Trim on the same day, with the same throw-in time of 2pm - and the home side will be hoping the change of venue will help revive their fortunes.

The game is an opportunity for Nick Fitzgerald and his players to get their campaign back on track after a disappointing draw with Mayo in the opening round at Tooreen on Sunday.

Meath looked to be on their way to victory in that game but in the dying seconds Cathal Freeman fired over a point from distance to earn the home side the draw. It finished 0-17 apiece.

Shane McGann, Ger Murphy, Shane Brennan, Keith Keoghan, Sean Quigley, Padraig Ó'Hanrahan, Damien Healy and Darragh Kelly were Meath's star players. They, and the rest of the Meath team will need to be at their best, if the Saffrons are to be defeated.

The visitors led 0-11 to 0-8 at the interval and with 44 minutes played Fitzgerald's troops had extended their lead to six points yet they were still hauled back.

Antrim will be looking to chalk up a victory on Sunday as they were defeated by Kerry in their opening round game.
