Racing writer gets it right

There was a winner for local racing writer Dave Keena at Navan yesterday - he is one of the members of the McAlpine Syndicate.

The Gavin Cromwell-trained Prospectus landed a handicap on the flat card at the Proudstown track.

With Kevin Manning on board the Cromwell-trained five-year-old had over three lengths to spare at the post.

Rated 130 over hurdles, Prospectus was winning for the first time in Ireland on the flat after two wins over the minor obstacles at Fairyhouse last year and in December 2016.

Punchestown could be an option for the next assignment.
