Bohermeen blast from the past - recognise anyone?

Fifty years ago when Meath played Down in the National Football League in Newry (Sunday 28th January 1968) and on the same day a  club challenge game took place.

A team representing Bohermeen GAA club played a challenge game against a Down club team on the morning of the NFL encounter. 

The team was made up of players from the Bohermeen parish and on the day wore amber jerseys belonging to Leo Collins Joinery. 

The players then headed for Newry where the NFL tie ended Down 1-10, Meath 0-13.

The players who were on duty for the Bohermeen selection (from left) were:

Back - Brian Brady, Brother Bernard, Peadar Burke, Richard Brady, PJ Crosbie, Liam Brady, Sean Rennicks (Grange),Patsy Mulroe.

Front - Sean Rennicks (Cortown), Liam Harte, Mickey Ball, Colm Burke, Dessie Murtagh, Mickey Collins, Billy Rennicks, Micheal McLoughlin.
