Final day of NH season at Punchestown today
Willie Mullins took a €91,295 lead as he overhauled Gordon Elliott after yesterday's results at the fourth day of Punchestown Festival which finishes today.
Gordon Elliott saddled Definite Ruby (7/1) to win the €75,000 Glencarraig Lady Mares Handicap Chase over two miles and five furlongs.
'We needed that! There was plenty of pressure coming into the week but we have had a great season no matter what happens,' said Elliott.
However, Mullins won the two Grade 1 races on the card.
Woodland Opera, a winner at last year's Punchestown Festival, continued a fabulous week for trainer Jessica Harrington and jockey Robbie Power when capturing a €100,000 chase over two miles and five furlongs.
Ratoath handler Dermot McLoughlin enjoyed a trip to the winners' enclosure when newcomer Canardier made a winning debut in the the concluding GVA Donal O'Buachalla Property Advisors INH Flat Race.
'We bought him a year ago and liked him a lot, he has always showed plenty of boot and is pure class,' said the trainer.
The attendance yesterday was 30,063, up from 29,419 on the same day last year.
