Stage coaching required for Wolfe Tones and Castletown

They have faced each other on the field of play, but now Wolfe Tones and Castletown have joined forces to generate funds to help finance development projects in each club.

On Easter Sunday, 16th April they will stage 'A Night at the OsKaRs' at Trim Castle Hotel, 7.30 and the event gives people an opportunity from both clubs to display their acting abilities - with the aim of doing something for their respective clubs.

'About 40 to 50 people are taking part from the clubs and they will be split into groups of seven or eight people.

Each group gets a script of a film and they have to act it out and film it. On the night the film is shown to the audience, there are interviews with the people involved and finally there's a vote for best film, best actor and so on. It's all good fun and there should be plenty of entertainment on the night,' said Wolfe Tones PRO Darragh Feeney.

The event is organised by the Rowe Production Company who provide the scripts, the director, lights, cameras. The company is contracted by the clubs to provide the equipment and do the production work and any profits generated will be divided among the Tones and Castletown.

There will be a MC for the night as well as celebrity judges and at the time of writing these had yet to be announced.

Scenes from famous films such as  'The Snapper,' 'A Few Good Men' and 'The Hangover' will be acted out and shown on the night and the hope is that the event will attract sponsorship so that a nice profit can be turned. Sponsorship is welcome from the best actor to the best film awards. 'Votes can even be bought to support your favourite choice!' adds Darragh.

Wolfe Tones are currently looking to generate funds for a 'skills walls' for hurling and football at their Kilberry base. 'We're also looking to develop a pitch at Baile Ghib and any money left over will go towards meeting the day-to-day costs of running the club. We run teams from u-8 up to adult level so you can imagine it takes a lot to keep it all going,' added the PRO.

Castletown are also looking to generate funds for their gym at their clubhouse and are aiming to attract the backing required.
