King of Street Music to feature on TV this week

A new series of the award-winning programme Sé Mo Laoch on TG4 casts an eye on some of Irish traditional music’s heroes. This Sunday night's programme looks at the life and career of the Ashbourne fiddle player and teacher Antóin Mac Gabhann.

Antóin is known as ‘the king of street music’ at the annual fleadh ceoil na hÉireann. He has had a huge influence on traditional music in the county since he moved there in the early 1970s. Sunday night's programme takes a look at his life and music with guests including the Mac Gabhann family, MacDara & Mícheál Ó Raghallaigh and Caitlín Nic Gabhann.
