Meath Archaeological and Historical Society Lecture, ‘The Importance of the Country House in Political and Social Life’ by Dr Patricia McCarthy, Headfort House, Kells, 3pm.

Moynalty Steam Threshing, including Nathan Carter in concert (5pm), supported by Paul Leavy, 10am-7.30pm.

Ledwidge Day explores ‘Francis Ledwidge and 1916’, Conyngham Arms Hotel, Slane from 3pm.

Finnegan's 'Powered by Potatoes', Free Family Fun day at Balrath, from 12 noon.

Friday 12th - Monday 15th August

Johnstons Festival opens with Eleanor Shanley at St Patrick's Church.

Saturday: Festival Walk from Navan to Slane and ballad session in the Boyne Valley Inn @ 9.30pm with music by The Boyneside Fusiliers and members of Rathkenny Revels. 

Sunday: Song for Slane ballad competition in Boyle's Bar from 9pm

Monday: Sean Corcoran, Ronan Browne and Kevin Glacken performing in Boyle's.
