Easy for Cromwell after a good week!

Running for trainer Gavin Cromwell for the first time, Breathe Easy won what turned out to be an incident-packed €50,000 one-mile hanricap at the Curragh on Derby day yesterday.

Jockey Wayne Lordan avoided the incident in which Johann Back slipped up and brought down Elusive Heights with about a furlong remaining.

Both the horses that fell and riders Gary Halpin and Colin Keane escaped serious injury and it also left Breathe Easy in a clear lead.

The Johnny Murtagh-trained Duchess Admiral finished second for Pat Smullen.

Cromwell, who trained his first juvenile winner during the week, suggested that the Topaz Mile at Galway could be a possible target.
