Date for Geraghty and Martin appeals set

Monday week 18th April is the date scheduled for the hearing of appeals by jockey Barry Geraghty, trainer Tony Martin (pictured) and on behalf of the horse Noble Emperor against decisions by the stewards of the Turf Club.

The appeals will be heard at the Turf Club, the Curragh at 6pm and will focus on the 30-day ban that was imposed on Geraghty, the 60-day ban that was imposed on the JP McManus-owned horse and the €3,000 fine that was imposed on the trainer Tony Martin.

The penalties were applied by thes stewards at Limerick on Sunday last after they deemed that the jockey and trainer had made insufficient effrot to win the race after Noble Emperor trailed in second 11 lengths behind the winner, Velocity Boy, ridden by Barry Cash.
