Foil Arms and Hog for Central

Dubbed by the critics as “Deliriously funny and at times unexpectedly dark”, Foil Arms and Hog have over four million hits on Youtube, been heard on BBC4’s ‘Sketcharama’ and were awarded a five star review from the Irish Times for their latest show. They are back for an extended Irish tour with a collection of sketches that are tight, loose, improvised and scripted in equal measure, including a visit to The Central in Navan on 25th February.
Nominated in 2015 for Ireland’s best YouTube channel, Foil Arms and Hog’s online videos are growing ever more popular. Five of their videos have recently been featured by the US comedy website ‘Funny or Die’, and three of them have gone viral in the past year: One about ‘Renting in the City’, another about a Kerryman giving directions and a final one with their most views to date ‘How To Speak Dublin’.
At the Edinburgh Festival Last year, both Tommy Tiernan and Rowan Atkinson came to their show. Tommy was seated in the front row, providing a huge distraction to the lads (who kept looking at him to see if he was laughing). Rowan bought just one ticket “to the Irish sketch show” and gave a personal congratulation to each of them at the end.
Last year, on the Jimmy Fallon show, Jimmy and Justin Timberlake recorded a sketch known as ‘Hashtag’. The sketch has to date garnered over 15 million hits. However, it was pointed out online that Foil Arms and Hog had done a very similar sketch the year previous. The story became the No 1 upvoted item on Reddit worldwide and was covered in national and international press.
In this year’s show ‘SkiddlyWup’, we find out what happens when a white Irish secret agent is sent undercover in Africa to blend in, when two bouncers go on a date and why having a permanent audience in your living room is ‘en vogue’.
