Kells syndicate collects €500.000 Lotto prize

A jubilant syndicate of 10 work colleagues from Mafic in Kells travelled to National Lottery offices this week to collect a cheque for €500,000 – their Lotto Plus 1 top prize from last Saturday’s draw.
The group has been playing regularly together for almost two years and won their prize with a €60 regular play Lotto ticket purchased online at lottery.ie. They chose their winning numbers together when they first began their syndicate in February 2014 and plan to continue playing these numbers in the future.
Deirdre Gingles, the group’s only female member, discovered they had won the prize when she received an email from the National Lottery on Sunday morning. Deirdre decided to wait until that evening, when the group were due to work a night shift together, to tell them about the win. They immediately began planning a whopper of a celebration with their family and friends next Saturday and are looking forward to a great Christmas.
