After a summer break, Navan Laughs returns to The (Comedy) Central on Thursday 1st October - headlined by the 'Godfather of Irish comedy', Barry Murphy.

Barry's best known as one-third of the sketch trio Apres Match and is the mastermind behind, and star of, current RTE comedy hitS Irish Pictorial Weekly and Apres Match of the Day. Barry was one of the co-founders of the legendary Comedy Cellar in Dublin 25 years ago and in that time he's also starred in shows such as Father Ted, Stand & Deliver, The End, Soupy Norman, The Stand Up Show, The Empire Laughs Back, The Late Late Show and BBC's Time Trumpet. He is also a superb stand-up and is not to be missed!

Support for Barry includes Dundalk funny man Colum McDonnell, himself one of the stars of Irish Pictorial Weekly. His other TV credits are numerous, including “The Republic Of Telly”,”The Podge and Rodge Show”, Comedy Centrals “The World Stands up”, and more recently Des Bishops “Under The Influence”. Additionally his comedy festival appearances include The Kilkenny Cat Laughs, The Vodafone Comedy Festival, The Edinburgh Comedy Festival, The Adelaide Comedy Festival and many, many more.

Support also includes Michael Downey, a former finalist in the BBC and Channel 4 New Comedy Awards. He also finished third in the prestigious So You Think You're Funny competition - sharing third place with a certain Alan Carr and beating John Bishop.

There will be a short guest spot from promising up-and-comer Lisa Joyce and Alan Gernon returns as MC.
