Meath artists exhibition in mayo

Angela Byrne-O’Leary has spent most of her life in Meath, and has lived in Kilmessan with her husband and three children since 1998. However, like many other residents of the Royal County, she is actually Mayo-born.

A painter since childhood, her first solo exhibition has opened at the Clew Bay Hotel, Westport, Co Mayo. The two dozen or so paintings in the exhibition comprise a collection of landscapes and seascapes inspired by the wild beauty of her county of birth. Executed in oils, they capture the wonderful combinations of light, colours, shapes and textures that characterise Mayo’s Atlantic coast.

The exhibition was opened by Charlie Flanagan, Minister for Foreign Affairs, and will run through the month of July.
