Scurlogstown Olympiad Traditional Haymaking Festival on Sunday from 12 noon to 6pm includes a re-enactment of O'Donovan Rossa's funeral at 4.30pm.

Kells Road Races begin with a charity classic run this Friday evening, practice races on Saturday and the full race day on Sunday.

The All Ireland Sean Nós Dancing festival and championships are taking place in Rath Chairn and Athboy, beginning in Aras Ghramhnaigh in Rath Chairn on Friday night, and continuing in St James' Hall, Athboy over the weekend.

In Navan, Solstice Arts Centre celebrates the summer solstice with New Orleans jazz quintet, The Session, the Surveyors Exhibition opening, annual exhibition of contemporary visual arts practice in Co Meath, ‘Charolais’, a comedy drama about one woman’s fight for her farmer boyfriend’s attention.

‘The Waterloo Picnic’, a midsummer evening of words and music to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the battle won by the Duke of Wellington, takes place at Dangan Obelisk on Saturday evening at 5pm.

The Irish Maritime Festival on 19th-21st June, will see towering tall ships, pirate battles, dragon boats, Moreish food, music and more on the quaint quayside of Drogheda Port.

In Ballinlough Castle, Clonmellon, Body&Soul is set in a 15th century walled garden showcasing a brilliant line up, secret hideaways and glittering late night discos in the woodlands, an inspirational art trail, spoken word and debate, a magnificent masquerade ball, culinary feasts, steaming hot tubs and seaweed baths and much much more, from Friday to Sunday.

On Saturday, as part of the Boyne Valley Food Series, The Central in Navan will host the festival featuring craft beer and cider specials, food pairings and gourmet food specials in a Backyard Beer Bazaar.
