Launch of love lilly trust on saturday night

A fund raising night and the launch of the Love Lilly Trust will take place on Saturday at 8:30pm in Teach na Teamhrach, Trim Road, Navan.
It will be a great night of entertainment by local musicians, DJ MsGigs and MC Peadar Farrelly and there will be a raffle on the night with great prizes.
Lilly is like every other happy nine year old, attending 3rd class in school, playing with her friends and enjoying art, music and spending time with her two cats. But Lilly, who is from Glasallen, Slane is a very special litle girl.
She lives every day with an autoimmune disease that was diagnosed when she was just nine months old. This illness effects her immune system leaving her vulnerable to many infections resulting in regular admissions to hospital for treatment.
She is cared for by the wonderful staff in Crumlin Children’s Hospital, Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Newcastle Children’s Hospital and also her general practitioner.
For a little girl so young she has bravely had to endure multiple invasive treatments in an effort to keep her body healthy. Sadly these treatments are no longer effective and now Lilly needs a bone marrow transplant.
Lilly will be admitted to a specialist treatment centre in Newcastle Children’s Hospital for a bone marrow transplant in the coming weeks. This life saving operation will involve six to nine months treatment in hospital followed by Out Patient treatment. Eventually Lilly’s medical care will then be transferred back to Crumlin Children’s Hospital for ongoing monitoring and review.
Thankfully Lilly’s medical expenses will be covered by the hospital.
Lilly’s mother and aunt will be travelling to the UK with her and have had to take extended unpaid leave from work in order to care for Lilly. As the treatment is taking place in the UK, the family are only entitled to minimal financial assistance for a limited time, resulting in a financial dilemma for the family during this time.
Love Lilly is a Trust that has been developed in order to support Lilly’s family financially during her treatment.
The proceeds from fundraising and donations will be used to help Lillyand her family get through this difficult time along with future donations to organisation’s that work with this autoimmune disease.
Tickets for Saturday night are €10 with all proceeds going to the Love Lilly Trust. Tickets can be purchased through Lynn in Tesco Navan or from Aoife (Lillys mum) (086)1905634.
Anyone wishing to donate directly may do so through AIB Navan, a/c name ‘Love Lilly’.
