Reilly features as ireland women win

Summerhill woman Marie Louise Reilly and her Irish team returned to Ashbourne last night and produced an illuminating performance with an 11-8 third round Women's Six Nations victory over England in front of an enthusiastic home crowd.

This was only Ireland's second ever victory over England with captain Niamh Briggs sneding over a late penalty to claim the spoils. Ireland trailed 3-8 at the interval.

Katy Mclean and Briggs traded penalties before Harriet Millar-Mills touched down for England in the opening half. Larissa Muldoon's try soon after the resumption got Ireland going again and that late Briggs score secured victory.

There was no problem with the lights to hold up play this time around although the lights did flicker once or twice.
