Brian Dunne on 'The Voice of Ireland'.

Brian gets through on voice

Navan-based singer Brian Dunne went through the blind auditions on 'The Voice of Ireland' on Sunday night, where he was chosen to go through to the next round by judge Rachel Stevens.
The former S Club 7 singer was impressed by Brian’s rendition of Justin Timberlake’s 'My Love’, even though Kian Egan thought the performance lacked rhythm.
She said she loved the fact Brian was singing with the guitar and had stripped back the song.
Brian is 19 years-old and is a second year music student in Dundalk IT. He is a son of Paul and Mary Dunne, who now live in Maghera, Virginia, and loved performing from a young age.
He has gigged in many pubs across Meath, including his grandmother’s pub, Maura Fox’s at Flower Hill, Navan, where he lives while attending college, and the Kelltic in Kells.
Brian has also been very involved in his sister Denise’s stage school, Bright Stars, since it opened its doors in Navan over five years ago.
He was delighted to get through to the next stage on Sunday night as he was very nervous and entered the competition as a result of his father’s suggestion that it would overcome his shyness. He hopes it will get him onto another level of performing.
He now has to battle against another member of Team Rachel in an effort to get through to the live performaces at the Helix.
