Foo fighters for slane

The US rock band, Foo Fighters, will headline Slane on 30th May next year.
Lead vocalist Dave Grohl announced the gig on 2FM today and Lord Henry Mountcharles has confirmed the gig on the Slane Castle Facebook page.
The band were among several being rumoured as possible Slane headliners.
Foo fighters have just released their new album, Sonic Highways, and are about to embark on a world tour.
The band last played Slane in 2003 as support to the Red Hot Chilli Peppers.
Tickets for the Slane show are expected to go on sale in coming weeks.
The Foo Fighters was formed in Seattle in 1994. It was founded by Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl as a one-man project following the death of Kurt Cobain and the resulting dissolution of his previous band. The group got its name from the UFOs and various aerial phenomena that were reported by Allied aircraft pilots in World War II, which were known collectively as foo fighters.
