AGE play the Dunshaughlin Harvest Festival on Saturday.

Young rockers play harvest festival

Ireland's youngest and hottest band, AGE, is planning to rock the Dunshaughlin Harvest Festival and drummer Jarlath Byrne can’t wait to play in his hometown.  Since their appearance on the RTE’s ‘Late Late Toyshow’ last year the band, with an average age of just 12 years old, have been hitting the headlines for their live performances. The boys wowed the ‘Vibe for Philo’ in Vicar Street gaining rave reviews in Hot Press and the national press, followed by a rip roaring performance for the thousands gathered at Dublin Soul Picnic and a return to RTE for an appearance on the Derek Mooney radio show and recording of an episode of the Music Inc which airs on RTE2 in October. Grab you air guitar and head for the main stage at the Festival’s ‘Market Square’ in Super Valu car park, on Saturday at 5pm. This gig is not to be missed.
‘AGE’ are four young rockers from Meath, all students of Ratoath School of Music, aged between nine and 13 years who play a mix of rock covers and original songs. They are Jaime Orr, lead guitar and lead vocals; Dante Macari on rhythm guitar and backing vocals; Luke McDonogh, bass and backing vocals; and Jarlath Byrne, drums and backing vocals. The band formed in 2013 and quickly established themselves with a rocking performance of ACDC’s ‘Highway to Hell’ the Late Late Toyshow in front of a TV audience of 1.5m viewers, followed by a show stopping set at the annual Vibe for Philo at Vicar Street, Dublin.
The Irish Independent in their review of the Vibe said “by virtue of their brazen attitude and remarkable charm a band of complete youngsters called Age completely steal the show. Their musicianship for a band who haven’t even reached their teens is absolutely remarkable.”  The band has gained the attention of the national media with appearances on TV, articles in the national press and features on several radio stations.
