Jimmy Magee's CD for Motor Neurone Association

RTE’s Memory Man Jimmy Magee is soon to be called the Music Man. The broadcasting legend is releasing a Charity CD single ‘These old eyes’ to raise awareness for the Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association (IMNDA).  Sadly his old eyes watched his son Paul pass away from Motor Neurone Disease (MND).  This golden oldie has penned some of his top moments in Irish history to create a musical hit. By releasing this novelty single Jimmy hopes to raise awareness and much needed funds to help those living with MND. The CD was made with the support of the department store group Heatons and will be available to purchase exclusively in any Heatons store nationwide at €3 from 12th April and on www.heatonsstores.com.

The veteran sports broadcaster has spent over half a century in sports broadcasting. His old eyes have seen it all; JFK visiting Dublin, Katie Taylor winning gold to Pope John Paul visiting the Phoenix Park. The CD will be available to purchase exclusively through Heatons stores nationwide & on www.heatonsstores.com this April. For anyone who is a fan of Jimmy Magee, supports the IMNDA or who simply loves sport, at €3 this is a must buy. All profits will come to the IMNDA.

“The deterioration in Paul’s case was rapid; arms, legs, feet, hands, voice, following in succession until for the last five months of his life, he couldn’t speak, couldn’t shake his head, couldn’t point a finger.  It’s not life’s natural order to have your children predecease you” said Jimmy Magee, IMNDA Patron.

“Looking back today, Paul’s battle with this unrelenting disease showed us - his family and friends - the true meaning of the strength of the human spirit.  I hope for all the families, friends and extended MND community in Ireland that we find that evasive cure and fulfil the vision held by the IMNDA that ‘Together, we will beat Motor Neurone Disease.’ We’re very appreciative of Heatons support of this initiative,” Jimmy Magee.
