Finalists Profiled: Best Accessories

This years Meath Style Awards Best in Accessories 2014 finalists are Fortuna, Jillys Joyelli and Prepys. The winner will be announced at awards on Friday April 4th at the Headfort Arms Hotel in Kells. Here we have each of our finalists profiled 

Fortuna

Dunshaughlin

With the largest collection of headpieces in Ireland, Fortuna in Dunshaughlin is a lot to get your head around! A previous winner of this category in 2012, the 3,500sq ft store offers thousands of pieces of jewellery, bags and shoes from all over the world. All of the store’s fabulous headpieces were made by Fortuna’s own in-house milliners, who have been busy creating spectacular items for over a decade.

The shop has even accessorised its accessories by providing vintage-inspired tearooms that has doubled in space due to demand in recent times. Over the last 10 years, Fortuna has worked hard at building up its business both at home and abroad and its export market has been strengthened through social media sites and a dedicated presence at fashion and wedding shows. Indeed, the store has become a destination zone for racegoers, brides, debutantes and guests of all occasions.

Fortuna takes the luck out of searching for that perfect accessory and even divides stock up into colour so that customers can easily see what they need among the massive array of stock. Fortuna makes sure you’re dressed from head-to toe for any occasion where you want to make heads turn!

Jillys Joyelli

Trimgate Street, Navan

Jilly’s Joyelli has been bringing a little slice of Italy to Navan since it opened on Trimgate Street just over five months ago. Having learned the intricate nature of jewellery making in Italy, Jill Hardy decided to bring her skills to the Irish market where her bespoke pieces are being snapped up by the more discerning fashionistas.

Jilly’s Joyelli is a colourful and jolly title but the name is actually derived from the Italian word for jewellery – ‘gioielli’ - and cleverly tweaked into a catchy trade name. Jill attributes her success to date to a blend of old-fashioned customer service with an unrivalled collection of accessories. Described as an Aladdin’s Cave, the store caters for all occasions and budgets with earrings and bracelets starting at €5 and increasing in price to statement pieces of €250. If there’s an occasion coming up in the future, Jilly’s Joyelli offers a deposit service for you to ensure that you can secure that perfect piece of choice.

Prepys

Navan Town Centre

Navan’s original accessories store, experience is part of Prepy’s continued success after over 28 years in business in Navan Town Centre.

Under the expert guidance of Erin Keogan, the store prides itself on offering customers “something a little different at very competitive prices”. A previous winner of this category at the Meath Style Awards in 2011 and 2013, Prepy’s attributes its popularity to a knowledge of their customers’ needs and an array of supplier contacts. “We’ve seen a lot of trends come and go but years of experience means we can source and price products for every budget,” Erin says. Prepy’s is the answer for any occasion, be it a wedding, Mother’s Day, Valentine’s Day, a day at the races or that nervous first date! Always moving with the times, Prepy’s has in recent years, been involved in the new retail trend for pop-up shops, opening in various locations such as horse-racing venues, Christmas fairs and girls night-in parties.
