Too many cooks - it's sometimes advisable!!!!

There was plenty of food and fun at the Generali PanEurope headquarters in Navan earlier today during what was a cook-off with a difference.

It was all part of the official launch of the Meath Chronicle/Generali PanEurope ‘Fit for Fun, Food for Fitness’ initiative which is now going into its third year.

The aim of the initiative is to encourage young - and not so young - to get involved in eating healthy and staying fit.

Articles relating to both activities will appear in the Meath Chronicle in the coming weeks.

They will be written by fitness expert Alan Heary and top chef Padraic White who were at the launch along with pupils from Ballinlough NS and St Paul’s NS, Navan.

And back to the cook-off.

It was between the Generali PanEurope sizzler John Martin and Meath Chronicle hot-pot Jimmy Geoghegan. The competitionw as fierce and the pupils from Ballinlough NS and St Paul's were involved in the roles of assistants as the duel unfolded under the wathcful eye of Padraic White from The Forge Restaurant in Carnaross.

Whatever about the food served up there was lots of fun.

And after all that’s what cooking is supposed to be about - allegedly!!!

See video of Jimmy Geoghegan in action - separate video to follow of John Martin - just sorting out liability cover in advance of any serious illness claims that might arise????
