Howard Moss.

Moss goes 'Outside The Pale'

In late August, RTE’s Larry Gogan, on his Golden Hour show, announced the release of Howard Moss’ new album ‘Outside The Pale’. And he played the single ‘Delilah’ from the mid-1990s which had kept the Trim singer riding high in the charts for several weeks.
But “where has he been ever since?” remarked Larry.
And well he might have asked. At a pub quiz overseas attended by mostly English expats and holiday-makers, the question was asked: “Who, apart from Tom Jones, had a hit with an original song called Delilah in 1995? And the clue was that he was Irish. Nobody got the answer. A few said Daniel O’Donnell and someone U2 but it was Howard Moss and the weird thing was that Howard was actually playing at a small venue down the road on this Mediterranean island while the pub quiz was going on.
Moss has spent years touring, travelling and playing the pubs, small halls, dusty venues and has become one of Europe’s finest live guitarists and entertainers. He has also performed at Dublin’s Olympia Theatre on a number of occasions.
But for the most part, many would leave a gig, humming one of the tunes he played and wondering who this talented musician was as Howard would rarely announce who he was!!
His new album released on 16th September and picking a single was fairly difficult.
“I’d like to think they could all mostly be singles and hopefully everyone will have a personal favourite,” says Howard.  Meanwhile, he has gone back to his roots performing with three-piece band Stoneloader while also playing as a solo artist.  Howard has also revived the Born To Run Bruce Springsteen Tribute band again, with himself on vocals and guitar; Derek Bradley, drums on vocals; Martin Belton on bass/vocals; and Declan Gantley on keyboards.
