Local Italian chippers seek brand ambassador for 2014

The Irish Traditional Italian Chippers Association (ITICA) and local Meath members have announced a nationwide search for its 2014 brand ambassador. In addition to representing ITICA in all media campaigns throughout 2014, the winner will receive a year long contract with renowned modelling agency, 1st Options, a €1000 cash prize, a holiday worth €1,500 and a full professional portfolio. Open to all males and females over 18, the winner will be chosen by a top judging panel to include MD of 1st Options, Jules Fallon, stylist Maria Fusco and Roz Flannagan of Dublin Wives fame. Applications will be accepted via www.itica.ie from  19th November 2013 to 28th February 2014.

Established in December 2009, ITICA was created to promote and build on the traditional values and ethos of the Irish Italian chipper community. In their first six months, ITICA successfully launched National Fish & Chips Day to celebrate the tradition of fish and chips. The fifth annual National Fish & Chips Day will take place on Wednesday 28th May 2014 and celebrate 129 years of a ‘one and one’. Now with over 200 members, the official ITICA logo identifies Irish Italian member chippers around Ireland.

The Irish Italian chipper culture was started by members of the Irish Italian community who arrived in Ireland in the 1880’s. All members of this community come from the villages in Val Di Comino in Southern Italy.
