No joy for Seneschalstown

There was disappointment for Seneschalstown as they lost, 0-13 to 5-7, to Laois side Sarsfields in the Leinster Ladies SFC final at Clane today.

The Meath champions were behind all the way and it was looking ominous for them at the break when they trailed 0-5 to 4-5.

Joe Sheridan's side dominated possession in the second-half but were unable to find a way through for the goal they needed.

Fiona Mahon was Seneschalstown's top scorer with nine points, seven from frees, with Lizzy Doran next with two points.

Stephanie Byrne and Louise McKeever also slotted over for Seneschalstown.

Laura Marie Maher showed the way for the winners with 3-2 an indication of how much torture she inflicted on the Seneschalstown defence with two of her goals scored in the opening half.
