Ghoulish folk needed for 'Farmaphobia'

Farmaphobia the massive Halloween Event which is held annually at Causey Farm, between Kells and Athboy, is recruiting talent. This annual event which attracts scare fans from all over the country in their thousands, is looking for energetic characters who will help make their guests worst nightmares come true. Auditions will be held on Friday evening October 4th from 7.30pm, for people of all ages and shapes!

There are four events running under the Farmaphobia umbrella, and each will be populated with terrifying creatures. Training and makeup will be provided and whether your skills lie in wielding a chainsaw or infecting visitors in the brand new Contagion attraction, positions are available for the most menacing candidates.

'Scare Actors' must be enthusiastic, get a real buzz out of finding the angle that freaks visitors out and be happy to work mainly in the dark. There are both indoor and outdoor roles to be filled. Priority will be given to actors who are available for all the dates of Farmaphobia – Oct 17th to 19th and Oct 24th to Nov 1st.

This year, a new optional extra called Contagion is in production and promises to go even a step further in terms of set design and cinematic features. “We really aim to make people feel they are in a movie set, immersed in the atmosphere, and trying to survive” said Matt Murtagh, director of Farmaphobia. “The actors are the most important part of that visitor experience and we are looking for people who will perform high-energy roles under the gaze of thousands of people, each looking to be scared.”
