Victory for St Pat's and Longwood

There was delight for St Pat's and Longwood when they won their respective games in a hurling double header at Pairc Tailteann this evening.

St Pat's kicked off the evening's fare with a resounding 3-13 to 1-7 victory over Longwood in the Div 2 HC final.

The east Meath side were always in control of this encounter building on a 1-10 to 0-2 interval lead to wrap up victory.

Player/coach Phil Harney showed the way for them with two goals while Colin O'Brien tagged on a third with almost the last puck of the game.

In the SHC quarter-final encounter that followed Longwood this time took the honours with Nick Weir's side winning on a 1-10 to 0-5 scoreline.

In what was sometimes a scrappy, error-ridden encounter Longwood led 1-2 to 0-3 at the interval their goal scored by Aaron Ennis.

With Mickey Burke in outstanding form Longwood continued to add to their account and set up a semi-final clash with Kiltale.
