Tailteann Cup joy for Drumbaragh

Drumbaragh made the most of the chances that came their way to defeat Kilmainham 3-8 to 2-9 in the Tailteann Cup final at Pairc Tailteann this evening.

With the help of goals from Darragh McNamara, Thomas Carry and DJ Carry the side managed by Finian Murtagh proved superior on a misty evening at headquarters.

With the help of two goals from Michael Newman Kilmainham led 2-5 to 1-5 at the interval but Thomas Carry's goal early in the second-half brought Drumbaragh right back into contention.

Kilmainham clocked up 11 wides in the second-half (13 overall) while Murtagh's men took their chances (they registered just five wides) and pushed on to deservedly claim the trophy.

In the curtain-raiser at Pairc Tailteann Rathkenny defeated St Colmcille 2-15 to 3-6 in the B FL Div 3 final.
