Free crisps for fans ahead of 'crunch game'

Ashbourne's Largo Foods plan to make the most of the marketing opportunity presented by having the two inter-county teams it sponsors in action this Saturday.

The crisp-maker plans to give out 20,000 bags of Tayto Cheese & Onion, Salt & Vinegar and Smokey Bacon crisps as well as Hunky Dorys Cheese & Onion, Buffalo and Salt & Vinegar crisps to supporters as they make their way to Croke Park for the crunch tie between Meath and Tyrone.

The Meath team are sponsored by Tayto Park, while Tyrone have the Hunky Dorys logo emblazoned on their jerseys. Both brands come from the same Largo Foods stable.

Raymond Coyle, founder of Largo Foods and Tayto Park, said he was so torn between which team to cheer for, he is having to wear a specially commissioned split Tyrone/Meath GAA jersey.

“It promises to be a great clash on Saturday and, despite my torn loyalties given these two fantastic sponsorships, both Tyrone and Meath fans are sure to witness a great match as well as getting their hands on thousand of bags of Tayto and Hunky Dorys crisps on the day,' he said.
