€25,000 up for grabs for GAA clubs
To celebrate its fourth year as partners to the GAA, SuperValu is calling on GAA clubs from Meath to enter a new and exciting ‘Community Den’ competition.
Community Dragons Paul Galvin (Kerry), Marty Morrissey (RTE) and Gavin Duffy (Dragon’s Den) have teamed up with SuperValu to call on communities and GAA clubs in Meath to enter the competition to win one of three €5,000 bursaries or the overall prize fund of €10,000 for their club, with one of each of these bursaries spread across the four provinces. Additionally, SuperValu will host a gala dinner at the winning club to celebrate the joy of Irish sport and the taste of local food, attended by GAA President Liam O’Neill.
Kerry footballer, Paul Galvin said, “I look forward to becoming a Dragon for the SuperValu Community Den initiative. In these hard times, clubs are really struggling to raise much needed funds. With this initiative SuperValu is providing them with an opportunity to get funds that will make a real difference to their club and its members. All you have to do is drop into your local SuperValu to pick up an entry form or log on to supervalu.ie. Closing date for entries is July 12th. Provincial winners will be announced on July 26th and the overall winner will be announced on September 11th. “

This is a fantastic way to launch SuperValu’s sponsorship of this year’s All-Ireland Football Championship.”

In addition to entering the ‘Community Den’ competition, GAA fans in Meath will once again have access to purchase tickets for all this summer’s Championship fixtures in over 170 SuperValu stores nationwide.
To enter just pick up an entry form in their local SuperValu and tell us why you think your local club should win.
Specifically we want to know the following:
1. How your club benefits your local community – why your club is special and how has it made a difference to the lives of its club members.
2. How this prize fund would enhance your community – tell us how your club would benefit with €5,000 if you were to win the provincial final. Tell us also how it would benefit from a total of €10,000 if you were to win the All Ireland prize and what it would mean to you and your club members to have a gala dinner in your club house attended by the GAA President Liam O’Neill.
3. Get your local SuperValu retailer (or the store manager on his / her behalf) to sign your form to.
