Athboy groups record 'Jeaneology' CD
Fifteen Community Groups from Athboy have been sampling the rock star life as they have each recorded a piece of music for the forthcoming Blue Jean Country Queen CD – 'Jeaneology'. The CD which will feature a mixture of covers and originals, songs and instrumentals and has music that will suit all tastes, will be launched at this year’s Blue Jean Country Queen Festival.
The local ICA, the High Nellie Club, Athboy Macra, O Growney National School and the local Comhaltas group are among just some of the groups participating. Recorded by David Arkins of Darkins Sound Studios, students of Athboy Community School competed in a competition to design the CD Cover and this was won by Jovellyn Quiapos.
Many of the participating groups will be performing live at the launch which will be a feature of the festival’s Street Carnival on Saturday 1st June on the Carnival Stage, Main Street, Athboy.
