Late goal vital for O'Mahonys

Paddy Smyth’s late goal was crucial as Navan O’Mahonys negotiated Nobber by 1-11 to 1-3 in the SFC at Castletown on Friday evening.

Wind-assisted O’Mahonys were marginally ahead (0-7 to 1-1) at the interval with Brian Farrell netting for Nobber.

The Navan men were still struggling to hold on to a lead with 10 minutes remaining (0-8 to 1-3) as Nobber piled on some serious pressure.

Then Smyth pounced for that goal which sealed the issue.

In the other SFC game last night St Patrick’s needed a late goal to get the better of Oldcastle by 1-8 to 2-3.

In the JFC Kilmainham defeated Moylagh by 0-10 to 0-5.
