Powers Gold Cup for Elliott

Gordon Elliott enjoyed a great Easter Sunday as he landed the Powers Gold Cup at Fairyhouse in front of a crowd of around 5,000 for the opening day of the big Festival.

It was a good day for Elliott with two winners at Fairyhouse and another two at Cork.

Realt Mór (10/1) produced a front-running performance under Davy Condon to win the feature event for Elliott on the opening day of the Easter Festival at his local track.

Three out it looked like Andrew Lynch and Buckers Bridge would be the main danger to Elliott's charge, but a mistake there ended that danger.

Realt Mór made a mistake two out, but was never headed on the run in with Tony Martin's  Dedigout in second place.

That completed a double for Elliott and Condon who also won with Mala Beach in a grade two novice hurdle.

Andrew Lynch won the opening race at the Festival with Juan De Gracia for trainer Henry de Bromhead.

CORK

Kilmessan man Jason Maguire made a visit to Cork for three rides, two for Elliott that were winners.

The first was on board Bayan (3/1 from 7/1) in the opening maiden hurdle at the Mallow venue.

Maguire followed up with a win in the grade three Imperial Call Chase with Roi Du Mee for Elliott.

Roi Du Mee was chased home by Noel Meade's returning to action Pandorama which was three lengths adrift with Toon River in third.
