Witches fly into Trim next week

Trim Musical Society stages its 2013 musical ‘The Witches of Eastwick’ in Scoil Mhuire, Trim, from Tuesday 2nd to Saturday 6th April at 8pm. It is a rollicking tale of love, lust, betrayal and a lot more. It has comedy, great songs to suit all music tastes and with delightful dancing it’s sure to suit music, film and stage buffs.
It features Niall Dempsey as the most handsome and cunning devil you have ever seen, three beautiful love-struck (lust-struck?) witches Helen McHugh, Louise Cassidy and Siobhan McAleese; a pair of young lovers on a rollercoaster love ride, Tom Moran and Jane Brogan; a commanding, conniving and at times charming female ‘boss’ of the town of Eastwick, Gwen Bagnall with her downtrodden husband, Aidan Mitchell; Megan Pottinger as the devilish child and various other eccentric and comic characters.
‘The Witches of Eastwick’ will be one of Trim Musical Society’s most spectacular musicals (Eastwick witches fly!) and most talked about shows. It has an outstanding cast of award-winning and experienced performers, most of them local, as well as some new young talent. It is being directed by Gareth Mahony - having directed so many acclaimed stage shows. Gareth’s most recent production was the widely acclaimed production of ‘Les Miserables’ in The Solstice, Navan last autumn with Meath Youth Musical Society, as well as last year’s ‘Sweeney Todd’.
Tickets are €17 and Tuesday, opening night, is concession night with tickets at €15.  Call (086) 087 0713 to secure tickets (no booking charge). On Patron’s night, Wednesday 3rd, tickets are €30, or €55 a pair, and €17 tickets also available that night. Tickets are also on sale in An Troman and Siopa an Caislean Trim.
