Laba Diena Navan on St Patrick's Day

The international flavour at yesterday's St Patrick's Day parade in Navan was enhanced with a group from Lithuania marching through the streets.

There is a large number of people from Lithuania living and working in Navan but the Meath Chronicle reporter didn't actually manage to demonstrate a good knowledge of the language in a brief exchange.

However, everyone in the Lithuanian group appeared to have great enthusiasm for the event and they definitely added some colour.

There was a rumour circulating that some of the local GAA people were wondering whay there was a Carlow group marching in the Meath parade, but that rumour is unconfirmed.

Paddy Pryle of the organising Shamrock Festival Committee committee has pledged to check out the Carlow rumour and to source some Lithuanian phrases for Meath Chronicle reporters!
