Schools' results and fixtures focus

Students from Meath schools were in action in football and soccer over the last couple of days. Ratoath College will bid to be the third Meath team to qualify for the Leinster Vocational Schools' VS semi-finals when they tackle Ballymahon on Friday at 2pm. Already qualified are Ashbourne and Dunboyne (see details below). GAA Ashbourne CS advanced to the Leinster Vocational Schools' SFC semi-final with a 1-7 to 0-5 fine win over Gallen CS in Ferbane boosted by an early goal from Conor Carton (pictured). Carton's goal boosted Ashbourne to a 1-3 to 0-5 interval lead and they added a brace of points after the break and also tallied 13 wides. Ashbourne CS - D. O'Connor; L Finn, J. McArney, D. SOCCER There was no joy for the girls from St Peter's College, Dunboyne who lost out on penalties to Wilson's Hospital, Multyfarnham in the FAI Schools' senior girls qualifier. Wilson's won 4-3 on penalties after a 1-1 draw. The game was played at Mullingar Athletic's ground.
