Another win for minors, semi-final postponed

Meath had nine points to spare over Carlow as they coasted to a 2-9 to 0-6 win Leinster MFL played in Carlow IT GAA grounds last night. However, the Kildare v Offaly game did not go ahead and subsequently next Saturday's semi-final has been postponed for a week. Wins over Wexford and Wicklow in earlier rounds had already secured a semi final spot for Meath so manager Andy McEntee made 14 changes from the side that defeated Wicklow with only Kyle Dixon retaining his spot and many of the St Patrick's CS, Navan players available following their win over St Peter's Wexford in the Leinster Colleges SFC just four days earlier. The early exchanges were close with the sides tied at 0-4 each at half-time, but Meath pulled away in the second-half to ease to a win with goals from Navan O'Mahonys pair Robbie Kellaghan and David Dillon securing the comfortable win. Meath will play either Kildare or Offaly on Saturday 23rd February in the Leinster MFL semi-final. Kildare and Offaly were due to meet last night, but the game was postponed. Offaly need to beat Kildare to set up a semi-final meeting with Meath, while a draw will be enough to see Kildare through.
