Doc's double at Fairyhouse

The Gillian Callaghan-trained Doc Hollywood followed up on a Thurles win two weeks ago to land a handicap hurdle at Fairyhouse today. With Dunshaughlin's Keith Donoghue on board the Doc made it two-in-a-row after hitting the front at the second last and then holding off the challenge of Blazing Sonnet. The Gordon Elliott-trained Shrapnel also followed up on a maiden hurdle win at Galway last month by landing a hurdle race at the Meath track today for Davy Russell. Also today it was announced that champion jockey Davy Russell will be the Leopardstown Christmas Festival Ambassador. The Christmas Festival will feature the Most Stylish Lady and Most Stylish Man competitions that will be judged by Heidi Higgins and Mark T Burke. The competitions are sponsored jointly by Mount Juliet and Tatler Magazine and will take place on Lexus Chase day, Friday 28th December. Almost €10,000 worth of prizes will be up for grabs. The winning lady will be given an editorial photo shoot in Irish Tatler as well as a two-night stay in the 5-star Mount Juliet Estate and Spa. The most stlyish man will appear in Tatler Man and will also win a trip to Mount Juliet. Leopardstown's Festival of racing begins on Wednesday 26th December.
