Tailteann Cup for Ratoath

Ratoath produced a fine performance at Pairc Tailteann today to win the Tailteann Cup for the first time. Ratoath proved too strong for Bective and won by 2-12 to 1-8 after leading by 0-6 to 0-3 at the interval. Ratoath manager Davy Byrne (pictured) will now turn his attention to next weekend's Leinster Club JFC tie against near neighbours Castleknock from Dublin. It will mean a Dublin man plotting the demise of a Dublin team for a Meath club. "I'm looking forward to the challenge next Sunday," commented the Ratoath manager this Sunday.
