Meath Camogie hosts suicide awareness event

Meath Camogie has organised a 'Conference on Suicide Prevention and Coping with Grief' for adults, to be held on Tuesday next, 6th November, in the Ardboyne Hotel, Navan, presented by Rev Dr Tony Byrne CSSp and Sr Kathleen Maguire PBVM. The county board of the camogie association in Meath and its chairperson Christy Mangan, organised the event as a result of a number of suicides in clubs across the county this year. The objectives of the conference are: To deepen the public awareness of the problem of suicide; to reflect on the early warning signals for suicide; to discuss a strategy for suicide prevention and intervention; to reflect on grief and suicide; and to provide information about the on-going care of the bereaved.
