McDonogh in Aga Khan frame?

Moynalty jockey Declan McDonogh could be in the frame to be the Aga Khan's next retained jockey, a position previously held by another Meath man, Johnny Murtagh. McDonogh partnered a winner for the trainer John Oxx today at Leopardstown on board the Aga Khan-owned Zand which won the Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund (C&G) Maiden. However, according to the trainer, a decision is not imminent and will probably not be finalised until the flat season concludes next month. Zand was second on his debut last month at The Curragh, but this was the first time that McDonogh was on board. The duo won comfortably by almost four lengths. Zand has an entry in next year's Irish Derby.
