U-15 finals completed

The u-15 Football Leagues came to a conclusion today with six finals at various venues. DIVISION 2 Navan O'Mahonys 1-12 St Vincent's/Curraha 1-7 This was a right cracker as St Vincents/Curraha were ahead at half time but late scores gave Navan O'Mahonys the edge. DIVISION 3 Walterstown 3-7 St Michael's 0-13 AET Both sides struggled to find scores early on and it was 14th minute before Walterstown finally troubled the scoreboard with a goal, Walterstown were ahead by 1-2 to 0-3 at half-time, but St Michael's had the better of the second-half and it took an injury-time Walterstown point to force extra-time. Two goals in the first half of that had Walterstown, managed by St Michael's most famous son, Martin O'Connell, in control, but St Michaels held them scoreless in the last 10 minutes and managed four points before the clock ran out on the Carlanstown/Kilbeg lads. DIVISION 4 Oldcastle 2-10 St Cuthbert's 1-7 Oldcastle and St Cuthbert's were tied at the break in Moynalty, but Oldcastle made up for disappointment at U-16 level early in the year to secure victory. DIVISION 5 St Patrick's 5-12 Clann na nGael 3-10 St Patrick's looked like they would run away with it on a number of occasions, but Clann na nGael reeled them in and only trailed by a goal late in the game before a few late scores gave St Pat's the title. DIVISION 6 Nobber 2-12 North Meath Gaels 2-3 Neighbours North Meath Gaels and Nobber clashed in Moynalty and as usual a great battle was the result. The Gaels searched for scores and took their goalkeeper outfield, but Nobber took control and a few late goals gave Nobber a second title in-a-row and a slightly flattering win. DIVISION 7 Kilbride 0-19 Clonard 2-7 A fine game as Clonard and Kilbride where level with 10 minutes to go. A flurry of late points saw Kilbride pick up their first Coiste Fé 18 title in many years Division 1 was played last week and ended with an easy win for Simonstown Gaels over Summerhill
